The Lay leaders and Alter servers/acolytes are volunteers who assist the pastors in conducting the service. Lay leaders assist the pastors even during the Holy Communion. The Altar servers/acolytes assist by becoming candle bearers or crucifiers and also as ushers during the Holy Communion.
